Getting there

From Ngurah Rai International Airport / South Bali

The best way to reach Amed from south Bali or Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is through a private car or taxi. The scenic trip will take you about 2 hours 45 min and the price will fluctuate based on your specific departure location.

From the Gili Islands

The easiest way to reach Amed would be to book a fast boat service to Padangbai. From the harbour in Padangbai you should arrive in Amed about an hour later.

From Nusa Penida

There are several boats running from Nusa Penida back to mainland Bali. The quickest and most direct way to Amed is to book a fast boat from Nusa Penida to Kusamba port. This trip takes around 25 minutes. From Kusamba take a private driver/taxi 1.5 hours up the coast to Amed. Alternatively, a cheaper option is to book the slow ferry from Nusa Penida to Padang Bai. This trip is longer (about 1.5 hrs by boat), with less departure time options, followed by the same 1.5 hour drive up to Amed.

Obey all diving instructions. As you descend, make sure you equalise your ears and mask. At depth, stay inside the parameters of the dive tables and computer. This information helps you avoid decompression sickness.

Never panic underwater. If you become confused or afraid during a dive, stop, try to relax, and think through the problem. Ask for help from your dive buddy or dive master.

This activity is not recommended for anyone with impaired physical mobility.

Do not fly for 12 hours after a no-decompression dive, even in a pressurised aeroplane. If your dive requires decompression stops, don’t fly for at least 24 hours.

This activity is not recommended for anyone with certain medical conditions such as high blood pressure, epilepsy, etc.

Prior to each activity, a detailed safety briefing is given to all participants to ensure they are aware of the risks involved and the safety measures they need to follow.
